I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and stylist, Will Poteat, during the salon’s Meet & Greet event on October 17th. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Will brings with him an impressive 15-year career as a professional hairstylist. His experience ranges from high-end salon work to bold, creative transformations that push the boundaries of conventional hairstyling. Yet despite his success in Portland, Will had long set his sights on Bisbee. He was drawn to the area’s charm, individuality, and strong sense of community, the qualities that align perfectly with his vision for Dye Wild Salon.
Just last month, Will made the big move to Arizona, found the perfect space in Old Bisbee, and dove straight into bringing his dream salon to life. The past few weeks have been a total whirlwind, but an exciting one. In an impressively short time, he transformed the building into a welcoming and artistic space that reflects both his personality and his passion for creative hairstyling. Now, with the doors open and the chairs ready, he’s officially taking appointments, and is thrilled to meet his new clients.
Stepping into Dye Wild Salon, you’re immediately greeted by an atmosphere that feels both modern and nostalgic. Framed band posters line the walls, a hint of Will’s punk-rock alternative roots and love of music. The salon’s open floor plan, light-filled windows facing Shearer Avenue, and cozy loft area give the space a bright, relaxed energy. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable chatting about ideas, experimenting with color, or simply soaking in the vibe while getting a trim. Will’s easygoing personality makes the experience even better. He’s genuinely enthusiastic about his work and excited to connect with the Bisbee community.
Dye Wild Salon is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
