This Month in Bisbee: September

by | Bisbee Buzz

Bisbee, after a long, hot, wet summer, is finally cooling down. September in Bisbee is when the temps ease as we waltz in to fall. Average daily high temperatures range from 87°F to 83°F, while overnight lows typically drop to 64°F–58°F.

And, of course, September is when the town springs back to life, with even more awesome events to keep you entertained.

Bisbee Bloomers Garden Tour

Come celebrate the lush gardens of Bisbee with the Bisbee Bloomers’ 24th Garden Tour and Porch Music Festival. A $20 ticket gets you into some of the most incredible back yards in Bisbee, as well as supports their mission of gardening and beautifying spaces in Bisbee. Plus, there’s live music at each of the stops, including MahaVia, Alex Wilkerson, and Pat Panther. Purchase advanced tickets here

Labor Day Luau

First off, The Shady Dell, Bisbee’s cool-and-unique vintage trailer park hosts their 6th annual Labor Day Luau on September 6. With Tiki cocktails, live music, and Hawaiian BBQ plates, this is one of the best deals in the Southwest. Book one of their cool airstreams (or their yacht) and stay for the weekend.

Bisbee Arts Commission at the Stock Exchange

The Bisbee Arts Commission regularly rewards grants to artists for projects and events. Help them raise funds that they can disperse. Saturday, September 12, 6-8 pm Bisbee’s historic Stock Exchange will open its doors. There will be live funk/jazz from The Humblebees and you can check out the art submissions that will be auctioned off at the Project Wildlife Garden Party September 27.

TWIBFest 3

I’m personally excited by this, because it’s a bash that I am throwing! TWIBFest 3 is Saturday September 19 at City Park, right in the heart of Old Bisbee. TWIB stands for This Week in Bisbee, a weekly newsletter that has all the music, art, and culture events happening around town.

TWIBFest 3 will feature some of Bisbee’s hottest local acts, including The Exbats, a father-daughter garage pop band that is set to tour Spain in October. Also on the bill is Taco Vultures, a sexy rockabilly outfit, BYSMYTH, featuring the incredibly talented Sabrina Solo, and of course, my band Moramarco!, playing all-original music on subjects such as mathematics, Satan, and refrigerators.

The event is free, lasts from 2 – 10pm and will feature local artists and vendors. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

Other cool and exciting events include the return of Mariachi Pueblo Viejo Sept 18 at the Bisbee Grand – Get Tickets

Metalheads rejoice as the legendary Pentagram will play the intimate venue of the Bisbee Grand Hotel Sept 30 Get Tickets before it’s too late (October 1 date has already sold out)
