The Sweet Smell of Bisbee: A Visit to Bisbee Soap & Sundry

by | Bisbee Buzz

Every now and then, I walk into a shop in Bisbee and immediately remember why I love living here. Bisbee Soap & Sundry is one of those places.

Located at 25 Main Street in Old Bisbee, the moment you step through the door you’re greeted by a wall of scents: earthy, floral, spicy, sweet, and undeniably desert. On my most recent visit, I found myself wandering around longer than I intended, picking up candles, smelling soaps, and eventually convincing myself that yes, I absolutely needed another stick of incense and a new candle to take home.

Founded in 2014, Bisbee Soap & Sundry specializes in handcrafted soaps, candles, body care products, and home goods, all made with an appreciation for craftsmanship and the slower pace of life that Bisbee seems to embrace so well. Many of their products are inspired by the surrounding desert, including their popular creosote collection, which somehow captures that magical smell of the desert after a summer rain.

What I love most about the shop is that it feels distinctly Bisbee. Nothing about it is mass-produced or generic. Owner, Amber still makes every bar of soap by hand, continuing a tradition of craftsmanship that has become rare in today’s world.

For locals, Bisbee Soap & Sundry is the perfect place to find a thoughtful gift, stock up on favorite scents, or simply treat yourself. For visitors, it’s the kind of shop that captures the spirit of Bisbee in a way that a souvenir never could. You don’t just leave with a candle or a bar of soap—you leave with a little piece of the town.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably leave smelling amazing, too.
