The average daily temperature rises from 76°F to 84°F while the low increases from 47°F to 56°F. This means it’s lovely in the day, and you likely just need a light jacket or sweater at night.
Mother’s Day in Bisbee!
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10, and one of the most popular holidays in the U.S. It’s a great day to celebrate mom – and what better way to do it than bring her to Bisbee! All the town restaurants and bars will be open for brunch and beverages, and over at the Bisbee Grand, there’s a special showcase of female performers called Sirens happening from 3 – 7pm.
Calliope Festival
Speaking of female-centered events, May marks the third annual Calliope Festival, a two-day event featuring many of Bisbee’s talented women performers. This takes place at the outdoor Bisbee Coffee Company stage Saturday, May 16, from 10am – 10pm and Sunday, May 17, from 10am – 5pm. It’s free, but support the venue by purchasing food and coffee and don’t forget to tip the performers!
Artemizia Opening
Artemizia Gallery 818 is an internationally acclaimed modern art gallery focusing on graffiti, street art, and other mediums. On Saturday, May 2, check out Contemporary Collage at the Speed of Culture exhibition featuring works by Sen2 Figueroa, Cey Adams, Danielle Scott, Janny Taylor, and Nicholas Polito, artists who cut, assemble, and reimagine reality in bold and unexpected ways. The opening is 1pm to 4pm and admission is free. The exhibition is open Thursday – Sunday 11 am – 4pm until June 21. Cost is $10 and located at 818 Tombstone Canyon. Bisbee Grand Burlesque Getaway
Finally, the month concludes with a three-day burlesque-stravaganza at the Bisbee Grand Hotel, May 22 – 24. Bisbee Grand Burlesque Getaway is a full weekend of performances, classes, and other events related to the glamour and art of burlesque.
