How Do I Get to Bisbee, Arizona?

Bisbee, Arizona is tucked away in the southwest corner of Arizona, about 7 miles from the U.S./Mexico border. If you are interested in visiting our historic town, you may be wondering how you get to Bisbee from where you are located?

Bisbee is 85 miles from Tucson, which translates into about an hour and 40 minutes driving time. The good news is the roads are rarely congested and there are no stoplights. The exit to Bisbee is off Interstate 10 in Benson, known as Route 80. This is also the exit to Tombstone, Arizona, which is about 20 minutes north of Bisbee. Phoenix is 211 miles, and about a 3 and a half-hour drive.

If you wanted to fly commercially to Bisbee, your best bet would be Tucson; however, any layovers could make the option to fly to Phoenix a little more appealing, especially if you were traveling around the Southwest. You can rent a car, have a friend pick you up, or perhaps even check the Bisbee Community Facebook page to see if someone can offer you a ride – Bisbee is a very friendly small town of 5,000 people (it’s a private group, so you will have to ask to join).

If you don’t want the hassle/expense of a car rental, you can get to Bisbee via Sergio’s Shuttle  (520) 807-9216 for $35, one-way. Sierra Vista Shuttle also serves Tucson to Bisbee, for $130 for one person, and $35 each, additional passenger (one-way).  And once you are in Bisbee, you don’t really need a car. Most music, art, and culture attractions are in Old Bisbee, which is very walkable; if you’d like to explore our fabulous enclaves of Warren, Bakerville, Lowell, Saginaw, Tin Town as well as visit Naco, Mexico, local shuttle options can help you.

Bisbee Weather

Bisbee is 5,538 feet above sea level – that’s right we’re a mile high just like Denver! As such, the weather is usually 10 degrees cooler than Tucson, and Phoenix! That means we get snow (sometimes) in the winter, and it always cools off at night, so be sure to bring some kind of jacket.

We hope this helps you plan your next trip to Bisbee a little easier. If you’d like recommendations for places to stay, as well as to eat and things to do, check out our home page at Bisbeeaz.com
