Spend the new year 2026 in Bisbee, Arizona! Although we are in the midst of winter, it is generally milder here than a good portion of the U.S. The average high temperature gently increases from 54 degrees to 57 through the month, while the average low is around 31 degrees.
This means, you want to bundle up both day and night; however, the “snowbirds” that flock here (people that own second homes) seem to love it. And there is a good chance of snow, which only adds to Bisbee’s alluring beauty and charm.
There aren’t too many major events this month, but there is still plenty to do, both day and night.
Kicking off the New Year on Saturday, January 3 is the Resistance Music Festival, at Oldfield Oasis, a home/farm on the edge of town. From 10am – 5pm, musicians will be expressing their right to free speech. Featuring acclaimed musical activist David Rovics and local artists Amelia Doll, Keith Allen Dennis, and more. 5288 N. Lead Str., Bisbee!
Whitewater Draw and the Sandhill Cranes - a must see!
Speaking of snowbirds, during the winter months, the area known as Whitewater Draw is home to thousands of Sandhill Cranes, who stay here for the winter. Just about 30 minutes from Old Bisbee, Whitewater Draw is best experienced at sunrise, when they all take flight in droves; evening at sunset is also awesome, although there is less bird activity.
