Spend some time in Bisbee this November – lots of great things to do as the temperature cools down and the night life heats up. The average daily temperature is a mild 72 degrees, with nights hovering around 49. This means sunny days and mildly chilly nights – bring a sweater and some long johns and you’ll be fine.
Right at the beginning of November is the 10th Annual Bisbee Mariachi Festival and Miner’s Reunion. Originally created as a way to support the Bisbee Homeless Coalition, the festival has grown to become a premiere community event, attracting hundreds across the Southwest. The event takes place November 1 at the historic Warren Ballpark.

The second weekend of November is always the Sidepony Music Festival, now in its 12th year! Sidepony is a totally free music festival that runs November 7 – 9 and includes 150 bands from Arizona and beyond. Practically all styles of music are represented, from indie folk to hip-hop, so there’s something for everyone, especially adventurous music types seeking something different.
This year, they are also adding fashion shows as well as a livestream by our local radio station KBRP. The weekend is sure to be packed, so book your stay as soon as possible.
Also of note this month is the Pit Fire Pottery Festival Friday November 14, at Cochise College, about 20 minutes from Bisbee. This is a very popular event, drawing people from all over the Southwest. It includes ceramics, art, music, and a giant bonfire. Attendees can purchase a $10 ceramic bowl and fill it with a variety of delicious soups, with all proceeds going to the college. This year they’ve decided to start earlier at 2 pm to give people plenty of time to mingle and shop before the sun goes down and the fire lights up.
Saturday November 15, Friends of the Copper Queen Library are having their first annual Spelling Bee contest, with all proceeds going to the library. Six four-person teams have been accepted as the competitors The competition is going to be brutal, as all six teams are determined to lift the incredible Biz-Bee Trophy, designed and created by Bisbee artist Ed Rosko. The Spelling Bee will take place at Central School Project, 43 Howell Avenue in Bisbee. Admission is $20. Get Tickets
Friday November 21, The Bisbee Grand welcomes to their newly revamped concert stage the legendary Surf/Horror/Rock band Messur Chups! Hailing from St. Petersburg, Russia and featuring the sultry Svetlana “Zombierella” Nagaeva on bass. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 DOS. With openers Taco Vultures, Bisbee’s newest Rockabilly band! Thanksgiving falls on November 27 and is a great time to bring the family down to celebrate. However, you may want to leave the kids home to attend Bowling for Dildos, which happens every Thursday (including Thanksgiving) at St. Elmo – it’s a Bisbee tradition!
Finally, the last weekend in November, the 28th and 29th is the 41st Annual Bisbee Women’s Club Home Tour and Art Auction. This year features glorious homes in the Warren district, our historic suburb, established in 1905.
This year, expect to visit a modern “off-grid” property as well as Craftsman Bungalows and gardens. Tickets are $20, good for both days and can be purchased online or the days of the event. The Art Auction is also part of the event, with artists displaying their works at Greenway Elementary and all proceeds help the Women’s Club give scholarships and present music events all year long.
